Widely known as the “Barolo of the South”, Taurasi is the pinnacle of the Aglianico grape. With high altitudes and volcanic soils that ensure warm ripening days and cold nights, Taurasi is a big, but elegant wine with ripe flavors and generous tannins, yet a high acidity to balance the flavors out. Aromas of chocolate, game, and dried flowers follow the long, lingering aftertaste.
Serving Temperature: Serve Taurasi Riserva Claudio Quarta at 60–65°F (15–18°C) to fully enjoy its complexity and aromatic profile.
Glassware: Use a large red wine glass to allow the wine to breathe and showcase its full range of aromas.

Sanpaolo Winery was founded in 2006 by Claudio Quarta, and is named after the village of San Paolo di Tufo in which it is located. Specializing in indigenous grapes such as Fiano, Greco, and Aglianico, it works in an eco-friendly manner using a photovoltaic system, making for an energetically autonomous production process. The vineyards are composed of small, hillside parcels influenced by the ashes of the Somma Vesuvius volcano at altitudes reaching 700m. The result is a family of unique wines with distinct flavors and delightful acidity.
From the depths of the Adriatic comes the world’s silkiest wine.
